Our first visit to Tablas Island was in mid-August 2010. Chris and Will were perfect hosts who shared their beautiful island with us. We were immediately struck by the green cleanliness of Tablas, which was a very welcome contrast to the cement and grime of Manila. Our visit to the Philagrivest farm introduced us to the immense size of the property. At that point, fencing of the whole property was being completed.

 

The building of roads was in the early stages and some of the pineapples had been planted. When we returned in October, we were very surprised to see how much had taken place in just over two months--thousands of chickens, much more access to the property, cash crops planted and near completion of the massive fish ponds. Of course, there had been that much more progress, including the harvesting and sale of the cash crops and chicken, by the time we returned in December.

 

Will and Chris have been working incessantly on the development, be it the building of the infrastructure, the planting of crops, the set-up of the Manila office or the promoting of the development to prospective investors. They have set goals and stuck to them. They don't just "talk the talk". They "walk the walk" at high speed! We are so looking forward to the future growth and prosperity of the farm and the development of Sunset Beach Villas and other projects like the yacht charters.
